Organization Overview

Founded in 2014, “Cantieri di Innovazione Sociale” is a social enterprise operating primarily in the Gargano region (Italy) with over 50 employees. The cooperative employs experienced professionals and specializes in managing public services, complex participatory planning, counseling, psychological/social assistance for minors and families, and career guidance for disadvantaged individuals.

Key Partnerships

The cooperative has established a vast network of collaborations with:

• Public Entities: Almost all the municipalities of the Gargano Area, including others in Foggia district.
• Educational Institutions: A wide range of local schools and universities (University of Foggia, Pegaso University) for internships and participatory planning.
• Third Sector: Partnerships with entities such as Consorzio Elpendù, Consorzio Opus, Escoop, San Riccardo Pampuri, Social Service, Polis, Bel Lombroso, ASP Zaccagnino, Gargano Vita, Muzia, Arci Pablo Neruda,FestambienteSud, Venti da Sud, CuoriAperti, Teatro degli Apocrifi, Impegno Donna .

Major Projects & Areas of Intervention

The cooperative manages various grant-funded projects, often focusing on educational poverty, social inclusion, and innovation:

• Combating Educational Poverty & Dropout:
  • “I FUORI CLASSE” (2018-2025): The cooperative acts as the lead partner in this participatory experiment to create educational communities across 9 municipalities.
  • “ROB.IN” (2020-2024): Used educational robotics and Social FabLabs to engage youth at risk of dropout.
  • “CRESCINCULTURA” & “POST.IT”: Projects aimed at improving quality of life and creating educational hubs to support minors and families.
  • PNRR Actions: Current mentoring and psychological support activities in various high schools to reduce learning gaps.
• Social Inclusion & Welfare:
  • “S.V.O.L.T.A.R.E”: A completed project supporting female victims of violence through empowerment and work inclusion.
  • “1,3,6casa!” (Ongoing): An experimental center for early childhood (0-6 years) offering support to parents.
• Digital & Community:
  • “tuttə@connessə” (Ongoing): Strengthening digital facilitation points to improve citizens’ IT skills.
  • “Fa C.A.L.L.”: Supported local libraries to function as community hubs.

Service Management

Beyond specific projects, the cooperative manages ongoing services for local authorities:

• Social & Health Services: Management of Home Care (ADI-SAD), school support services, and day centers for minors and people with disabilities in municipalities like Vieste and San Marco in Lamis.
• Education: Management of the “Don Orione” municipal nursery school in San Giovanni Rotondo since 2019.
• Summer Camps: Management of summer centers across multiple municipalities in the Gargano area.
